Mission

We as a society are experiencing a significant moment in time as we navigate COVID-19.

On behalf of the Asian Pacific American Leadership Institute (APALI), we are formulating this platform to create discussion and combat misinformation surrounding the pandemic. We are passionate about ensuring that all who come to this website are able to see a myriad of Asian Pacific Islander Desi/American (APID/A) perspectives. We are committed to having meaningful conversations both in the APID/A community and at large. We hope that these conversations spark action to make for a more fair and equitable society.

Our primary focus is to document the various APID/A experiences affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and preserve these stories. We endeavor to showcase first-person APID/A narratives,  address racial microaggressions, and provide historical context.

Accordingly, we aim to collect a wide range of stories as the APID/A community and their respective experiences are very diverse. We find that it is important to highlight these experiences to raise awareness and validate the collective reality of the APID/A community during the COVID-19 pandemic.
